[/i] Being trainer of the almighty Lugia... It was a new goal, you could say. Once you had a goal, you had to go for it. She took the Charizard's poke ball off of her bed, then ran out the doors of her home. She wiped the ball in the air, making the Pirate pokemon appear in a flash of white light. With an evil seeming grin on her face, she leaped onto the pokemon's back. "Onward to Jhoto!" Blitz frowned his eyebrows and smiled. Jhoto eh? It seemed interesting enough. He flapped his wings until it took them high in the air, souring through the skies. Their flight to Jhoto, and quest for Lugia had begun. ~~~ The flight was long for sure, but it was all for a good cause. When they saw the region below, Emily filled with excitement. Blitz just smirked and changed corse for landing. His wings spread further out and flapped less, until the point his feet were touching the ground. The girl jumped off his back the second they were grounded, looking around to see where they were. She stopped when she saw a sign reading "Goldenrod City". 'Goldenrod City? Well... I hope some people here know their stuff about Lugia.' She turned to face the pokemon and grinned. "C'mon! C'mon! Let's go!" She started running away, not really knowing where she was heading. Either way, it didn't elp the fact that Blitz was too warn out to run. He'd just flew all the way from Shunray to Jhoto! With a person on his back for god sakes! He squinted his eyes and glared at Emily while he tried to chase after her. Too bad in this case, his sprinting was more like a jog.[/ul]

[/center] As it was, the long journey only took a few hours before they arrived in Goldenrod. Cursing, Axel realized he probably could have just traveled on foot and gotten there faster- while Maniac had stamina, he was, after all, a tortoise, and as such was slightly faster than a brisk trot, whereas Axel could sprint for several minutes, jog for longer, then sprint again. The collar would suppress the pain one felt from running, after all, which meant that one wouldn't know how badly they were hurt until they took off the collars or died of exhaustion. As such, maybe Maniac was the better of the two. Everyone seemed to make a small fuss, and he saw no painted Pokemon; maybe it was only in Shunray where that was popular? Never the less, he took it all in stride, smirking slightly while he tried to fall asleep. No matter how pleasantly warm it was, a Torkoal shell was the most uncomfortable thing ever invented besides a rock. As such, his butt was sore. Still, occasionally he asked random passerby questions such as where Ho-Oh might be found, with the claim that he merely wanted to get a glimpse. Maybe he had a good enough heart, maybe not. He got quite a few weird looks- if only because of the radioactive Pokemon- though he did get a couple answers such as the Tin Tower, Ecruteak or something city, and a map.[/ul]

[/i] Oh well. Better then being clueless to where it was you even were, right? 'I wonder if Goldenrod is even a good city for legendary research... Bah. Aw well. They must know something about Lugia! Who wouldn't even know a thing about their region's well known legendary? Um... legendaries...' Someone was becoming a bit too obsessed with this whole idea. Was it even a good idea to try and catch him? Yeah she had legends of her own, but they all came to here. She hadn't fought then captured them. It would be trickier then she though. The girl spun around, still jogging, only backwards now. Blitz was pretty far behind, pretty much dragging himself after her. "C'mon Blitz! Hurry u- OW!" The heel of her foot banged against something hard. Really hard. She whimpered as she squeezed her eyes shut and took hold of her foot. Damnit, it hurt. She opened one eye, squinting it as she turned around to see what she hit. Hm? Looked like a shell, maybe? With someone on it too. Oh crap. "Oh, um... Uh... Sorry..." At second glance, the shell looked green. Glowing green. It was a pokemon, wasn't it? A radioactive pokemon probably. With a shell... Oh! It was a Torkaol wasn't it? Yeah! A radioactive Torkoal. Must have been. She only knew one person with one, plus, weren't painted pokemon more of a Shunray thing? She didn't expect to see any in Johto... Actually, the guy's hair was red, but it wasn't spiked or anything. Nah. Couldn't have been who she thought it was. Then again, he had a habit of changing each time she saw him. Maybe it was..? 'Oh who am I kidding! Why would he be in Johto? Besides it's been three years since I've seen the guy.' ((Well... Turned out better then I thought it might've. x3))[/ul]

[/i], sung to the tune of Deck the Halls- while trying to find Ecruteak or something on the map (it was his greatest shame that he wasn't the best reader), when someone jabbed their foot into him. Or, rather, his monstrosity of a Torkoal, who merely snorted at the girl, considering himself above noticing others by now. Even if he DID recognize this particular girl, whom he’d last seen as a twelve year old. Well, whatever, might not be the same person; Maniac remembered her as rather plain, and there were plenty of thin blond blue-eyed girls around out there. And even if it was Emily, it didn’t matter, since he was depending upon his trainer’s reaction. Which wasn’t exactly what one would have hoped. Axel looked at the girl, eyes narrowed, a look of faked dislike on his face before it cleared up, becoming cheerful with a hollow edge. “Well, then!” he laughed, forcing himself to grin. “Lookey here at the girl! What’s someone as young as you doing wandering around- oh, I see you have a Pokemon with you. A Charizard, too, one not native to here. Like my Torkoal, mhm. In that case, I suggest letting him catch up- it is a he, right, not a female like my little Quilava? Well, anyways, let it catch up. After all, I might be some kind of rapist.” He didn’t look the part, however, though before with his cloak and everything he certainly did. “You lookin’ for something? Because if so, we might be able to help each other.”[/ul]

[/i] She smirked a bit when she asked. Actually, she really did hope it was him. Why? Probably because it had been over three years. That, and the last time they met up was kind of odd. What with that Larxene person jumping in and looking as if she was about to rape him or something... Not appropriate for a twelve-year-old's eyes. Seriously. Blitz came jogging up from behind. His tongue was hanging out of his mouth with his shoulders slumped forward. His jogging was more like forcing himself to take a step forward as well. Couldn't blame him, really. Once he finally made it to his trainer, he stopped and breathed fast. His hands were pushing up against his knees, trying to stay up. God he could just fall over any minute from exhaustion. He wondered, though, what was going on. He lifted his head to see. A Torkoal and... trainer? 'Oh ho ho. Radioactive Torkoal is it not?' The Charizard thought. Taking breaths in-between speaking, he said. "Why hello there. Maniac am I right? Long time no see!"[/ul]

[/I] Was he? Maybe, possibly, but it didn’t seem likely. After all, he almost looked like a nice person. Except for the fact he wasn’t; as of late, he’d developed a fascination with the idea humans and Pokemon could burn. He’d even found out that Starly made just as good a soup as Farfetch’d would. Especially with several spices and if it was almost burnt to a crisp. His mouth watered just thinking about it, but he shook his head, returning his attention to Emily finally. “Maybe I am this Axel of yours, and maybe I am not,” he said calmly, fingering the collar around his neck. It was red, with a blue gem in the middle that pulsed lazily, monitoring his own emotions that he could still feel. Every week, it pulsed less frequently, and it worried him. Maybe that was why he was seeking Ho-Oh; because the legendary dog trio master might be able to break the collar like he’d tried for months. “Still, don’t assume that, just because someone looks similar, that they’re a friend of yours.” Maniac snorted at the Charizard, tossing his head proudly. “The years have made you too friendly. I would think that one of your station, a veritable demon among Pokemon, would have the sense to not notice others of lower birth,” he said stiffly. The years had changed him, making a sleepy, friendly, large Torkoal into an irascible, sleepy, huge Torkoal with odd ideas of proprietary. There was still the edge of general liking in his voice, but it was dulled down, like someone had tried to stamp it away. Around his neck hung a similar collar like Axel’s, blinking faster than the Trainer’s. In fact, it meant that he had almost all of his original emotions in tact; the key word being almost.[/ul]

[/i] She rolled her eyes at him. Like she actually would have assumed it was him just by looks. If anything he didn't even look the same like when she last saw him. Or the last time she saw him before that... How many 'last time's has she seen him? Jeez. "I'm not assuming just by looks. Who else would have a Torkoal like so, and be singing that parody of Deck The Halls?" Like someone else could just make up the exact same lyrics for it. But, whatever. Let him be stubborn. Her smirk frowned slightly and she shut her eyes. "But, if your going to be a pain and not admit it, you obviously don't want me around. So be it." Her blue eyes opened as her arms dropped to the side and began walking slowly away. "Good-bye, who ever you are. C'mon. Blitz." Maybe it just was he didn't remember her? Possible. Or it was come-back for her not recognizing him last time. 'Hmph. Well, hopefully calling Blitz's name would ring a bell if that's the case.'Blitz snorted as well. Too friendly? For god sakes, he was greeting him. Oh whatever. "Pfft. You think I'm being to friendly, eh? Well-" Emily's calling to him cut him off mid sentence. He frowned and glared at the girl. 'For fuck sakes... Can we not rest for a minute!?' It wasn't too much to ask! He. Had. Just. Flown. Her. From. Shunray. To. Johto. It was exhausting! Seemed like she couldn't be stopped again, though. So he sighed, a hint of a growl in it, and dragged his feet to follow her.[/ul]

[/i] you, huh?" He certainly was talking weirdly, but he couldn't exactly not talk like that; ever since birth, he'd talked oddly. It had confused his mother to no end. "Maybe you should start," Maniac said simply, yawning, then abruptly retreating into his shell. "Ranks are everything to some. It dictates how our lives were long ago. They must have had a reason for stature." The survival of the fittest. Torkoals were not the fittest, but their shells were hard to penetrate, they could spit smoke, and they could breathe fire. Now that he thought about it... Maybe Torkoals were best? Well, whatever.[/ul]

[/i] She defiantly thought a little differently then when she was only twelve. But, happens to everyone's mind as they grow older. Just can't be helped, now can it? Especially from some stuff you hear about on the streets... Not pretty... The blinking collar on Axel's neck caught her attention. The hell was that thing? God he had an odd fashion sense. And that was coming from the girl who wore knee-high boots. Breathing was a bit easier now, so it wasn't as hard for him to reply. "The only ranks I pay attention to are age." If that would even classify as a rank. When he thought about it, he kind of did think ranks sometimes. By size, at least. Like that weird Elekid with the bow three years ago? He was bigger, stronger, and faster then the shrimp. That thing was small, weak, and probably pretty slow compared to him. Plus that bow was just retarded.[/ul]

[/i] The corner of his mouth sunk deep into a frown, but other than that, he displayed no other irritation at the possibility that three years might have warped her mind, instead pulling out a cigarette. God, he hated them, he really did, but if he wanted to intimidate people, or flirt with pretty women (not that he wanted a relationship, he just wanted some practice in the possible eventuality that he might settle down (not likely)), then he had to develop a look, right? Right. Maybe he was just smoking still because he hated the feeling he got when he wasn't. Stupid cigarettes. "See? You recognize certain aspects and ignore the rest. Like the fact that I hate it when someone calls me a name," he growled, taking several deep breaths, free hand going up to his neck when he felt a slight pinch. His face gained a blank, hollow expression as the gem went red, then back to blue, and he was grinning vacantly now. "But, does it matter? I only recognize that you want to annoy me." Maniac sighed softly, and the shell lowered a few inches before rising as he stretched his long neck out, attempting to look Blitz in the eye. Unfortunately, a Torkoal's eyes are destined to remain looking like they were closed, so this didn't exactly work. "Maybe you're right, and ranks are silly. But they've hurt me once, when I said that. Remember Cherubim, that Elekid? Well, she's evolved now. An Electivire. Whoever let Larxene get one... is insane." Then his sad aura changed, and he regained his uppity, slightly pompous one, withdrawing back into his shell.[/ul]

[/i], not just there for fashion. 'The hell is up with him? I don't remember him ever acting like this... Sigh. I guess Lugia will just have to wait...'His eye twitched at the name. God damnit he wanted to punch that thing out. But, evolved?! "WHAT?! The little runt EVOLVED?! Oooh FUCK IT!" He yelled as he forced himself to sit up straight. If she was an Electivire now, that meant she was taller then him. His whole body began to shake with anger, and his fists were clenching together. There was, one question though. Was she stronger then him? Surely, he could kick her ass in a battle, right? A couple inches of height difference was one thing, but strength was another. "I swear to God if I see that fucking bitch again, I'm going to rip her head off." Even if it was bigger and harder to tear off then an Elekid's.[/ul]
